Markandey Mahadev Puja is a sacred Shaiva ritual dedicated to Lord Markandey Mahadev, a revered form of Lord Shiva associated with the legendary sage Markandeya, who attained victory over death through his unwavering devotion to Lord Shiva. This puja is performed to seek blessings for long life, good health, protection from untimely death, removal of obstacles, and spiritual well-being. Devotees worship Markandey Mahadev for divine protection, family prosperity, and freedom from fear and negative influences.
The puja is performed by experienced Vedic priests following traditional Shaiva rituals. The ceremony includes Ganesh Vandana, Sankalp, Jalabhishek, Panchamrit Abhishek, Rudrabhishek, Bilva Patra Offering, Mahamrityunjaya Mantra Jaap, Om Namah Shivaya Chanting, Shiva Ashtottara Namavali, Aarti, and Prasad.
